Young people's admiration for media and sports stars reflects a culture in which visibility, entertainment and athletic success often appear more attractive than ordinary education or public service. I believe this trend is mostly negative when admiration is uncritical, although famous figures can have positive influence if their discipline and responsibility are made visible.
