There are more animals in danger of extinction. Some people say that only the animals that are useful to humans should be protected. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

As human activity accelerates habitat destruction and climate change, the question of which species deserve protection reveals how societies value nature. I strongly disagree that only animals useful to humans should be protected, because ecosystems have intrinsic value and even apparently useless species may support environmental balance in ways we do not yet understand.
