The only reason for people working hard is to earn money. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Money is a powerful motive in working life because it pays for security, status and opportunity, yet human effort is rarely driven by income alone. I disagree that earning money is the only reason people work hard, because ambition, identity, responsibility and social purpose can be equally strong sources of sustained effort.
