The best way to solve traffic and transportation problem is to encourage people to live in cities rather than suburbs and countryside. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Traffic problems are often caused by the spatial separation of homes, jobs and services, so encouraging people to live in cities appears to offer a compact solution. I partly agree that denser urban living can reduce transport pressure, but it is not the best answer unless cities become affordable, well planned and supported by efficient public transport.
