Students in university education should develop specialists in one subject area rather than develop a wider range of different subjects. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Universities face a difficult question: should they train students to become specialists in one field, or should they encourage broader intellectual development across several disciplines? While specialization is necessary in many professions, I believe university students should not be pushed into narrow study too early. A strong education should combine depth in one area with meaningful exposure to other fields.
