Fashion has always been more than a matter of clothing; it is also a form of identity, aspiration, and social belonging. Yet the modern fashion industry, especially the rise of fast fashion, has turned this cultural activity into a cycle of constant consumption. Consumers are encouraged to buy new garments not because their existing clothes are unusable, but because they are no longer considered fashionable. I strongly agree that this industry has a damaging effect on the environment, although the problem lies less in fashion itself than in the unsustainable business model that now dominates it.
