Some feel that it is a waste of time to plan for the future and it is more important to focus on the present. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Modern life encourages people to think ahead: students are told to plan their careers, families are urged to save for retirement, and governments are expected to prepare for economic and environmental risks. Yet there is also wisdom in the argument that people should not sacrifice the present entirely for an uncertain future. I partly agree that focusing on the present is important, but I strongly disagree with the idea that planning for the future is a waste of time.
