Public transport should be funded by the government so that it can be free for the people who use it. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement.

Public transport is central to urban mobility, social inclusion and environmental policy, yet fares can discourage people from using it regularly. I partly agree that governments should fund public transport heavily, but making it completely free for all users is not always the most effective or fair use of public money.
