Nowadays, most countries improve the standard of living through economic development. But some social values are lost as a result. Do you think the advantages of the phenomenon outweigh the disadvantages?

Economic development has become the dominant measure of national progress. Governments often pursue higher incomes, better infrastructure, and stronger industries because these changes can lift people out of poverty and improve living standards. Yet development also reshapes the values that hold communities together. In my view, the advantages of economic development generally outweigh the disadvantages, but only if societies make a conscious effort to preserve social trust, family ties, and cultural identity.
