Newspapers have an enormous influence on people's view. Why is that? Do you think it is a positive or negative development?

Newspapers have long shaped public opinion by selecting which events deserve attention and by framing those events through particular language and editorial priorities. Their influence comes from agenda-setting and perceived credibility, and I regard it as positive only when newspapers are independent, accurate and pluralistic.
