Parenthood is emotionally rewarding but also demanding, and many adults begin it with little formal preparation for children's physical, cognitive, and emotional needs. I largely agree that new parents should attend parenting courses, although such courses should be supportive and accessible rather than punitive or rigidly compulsory.
