More and more people today expect to get what they want instantly (e.g. goods, services, news), without having to wait. Why is this? Do you think this a positive or negative development?

One of the defining features of modern life is speed. People expect food to arrive quickly, messages to be answered immediately and news to update in real time. This expectation has been created by digital technology, consumer culture and the design of online platforms. Although instant access can be convenient, I believe the overall development is negative because it weakens patience, judgment and social well-being.
