More and more parents are allowing their children to play on computers and tablets as they think that children should learn technology skills. Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?

Many parents now view computers and tablets not only as entertainment devices but also as gateways to future technological competence. I believe the advantages of allowing children to use these devices can outweigh the disadvantages, but only when use is purposeful, limited and supervised.
