Many cities have vehicle-free day, which encourages citizens to take bus, cycle or take taxi to go out. Do you think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

Urban authorities increasingly use symbolic transport policies to challenge car dependency and make residents reconsider the way public space is used. I believe vehicle-free days bring more advantages than disadvantages because they improve public awareness and test alternative mobility, although they cannot replace deeper transport reform.
