In some countries, an increasing number of parents choose to educate their children at home by themselves instead of sending them to school. Do the advantages of home education outweigh the disadvantages?

Home education has become more visible as parents question school quality, safety, values and the ability of formal systems to meet individual needs. I believe the disadvantages of home education generally outweigh the advantages, although it can work well for a small number of families with exceptional commitment and resources.
