In most countries, prison is the most common solution to the problem of crime. However, the more effective solution is to provide people with better education so that they do not become criminals. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Most criminal justice systems rely heavily on imprisonment, yet many offenders enter crime through poverty, exclusion, addiction or weak educational backgrounds. I agree that better education is a more effective long-term crime-prevention strategy than prison alone, although serious offending still requires legal deterrence and public protection.
