As many cities replace local streetscapes with generic towers, architecture has become a visible struggle between cultural memory and modern urban efficiency. I partly agree that new buildings should respect traditional styles, especially in heritage areas, but governments should guide design through context-sensitive rules rather than require all new construction to imitate the past.
