Difference between countries are becoming less evident recently. People can see the same films, brands, fashion, advertisements and TV channels. To what extent do disadvantage outweigh advantages?

In a globalised consumer culture, national borders are becoming less visible in the entertainment, products, images, and lifestyles that people encounter every day. Although this convergence can widen choice and encourage mutual understanding, I believe its disadvantages outweigh its advantages when it weakens local culture, narrows imagination, and increases dependence on a few global corporations.
