Competitiveness is regarded as a positive quality for people in most societies. How does competitiveness affect individuals? Is it a positive or negative trend?

Competition is often praised because it drives people to improve, yet it can also turn education, work and social life into constant comparison. Competitiveness can strengthen ambition and performance, but I believe it becomes negative when it undermines cooperation, well-being and ethical judgement.
