As housing is a basic need for people, the government should provide free housing for everyone who cannot afford it. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Housing is more than a private purchase; it is the physical foundation on which safety, employment, education, and family life depend. For that reason, governments cannot treat homelessness or severe housing insecurity as merely an unfortunate market outcome. I agree that the state should provide housing support for those who genuinely cannot afford it, but I do not believe that “free housing for everyone” is a realistic or well-targeted policy.
